Matt Hartley

SVP, Research and Engineering
FireEye

Matt Hartley is SVP, Research & Engineering at FireEye heading the development and delivery of full-stack technology solutions for its managed defense and response, threat intelligence, and incident response businesses.  He has over 20 years of experience innovating in a wide range of areas including cyber security, threat intelligence, cyber warfare, and information operations, all in support of global corporations and governments countering the most advanced cyber threats.

Matt joined FireEye in early 2016 with the acquisition of iSIGHT Partners, where he held many leadership roles. Matt headed all aspects of delivery of iSIGHT intelligence to the company’s government customer portfolio, launched several service offerings, co-launched its technology alliance program, and headed product management ultimately driving product strategy into the acquisition.

Matt started his career serving in the US Air Force, leading the HQ Air Intelligence Agency network operations center supporting a large enterprise system across dozens of operational locations with thousands of users worldwide. At the Air Force Information Warfare Center, he was recruited to serve as Lead Engineer, driving direction, development, and implementation of mission-critical, high-visibility information operations capabilities.

After the Air Force, Matt joined SYTEX, Inc. where he led a team responsible for next generation information security, information warfare, and cyber warfare software and hardware prototypes, tools, and capabilities for the military, intelligence community, and defense industry. Matt led the team’s transition into the Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Technology Labs after SYTEX was acquired in 2005. At Lockheed Martin, he led a research and development team creating disruptive information sciences, information operations, and cybersecurity technologies for a variety of government customers.

Matt is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelors and Masters in Computer & Systems Engineering and has held a CISSP for over a decade.
